protects your information when you use GridTerm and our website at gridterm.com. We are committed
to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: Email address and password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store your actual password).
- Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC. We receive a Stripe customer ID to associate your payment with your account.
- Support tickets: Messages you submit through the support ticket system, including subject lines and reply content.
- Usage metadata: Account creation date and last login timestamp.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
GridTerm is a local desktop application. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your terminal input or output
- Files on your computer
- Screenshots you capture
- Workspace configurations
- Editor content
- Any usage tracking from the desktop app (the app sends only crash reports to help us fix bugs)
The only network requests the app makes are for authentication and checking for updates.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To verify your license and grant access to the application
- To process your payment through Stripe
- To send transactional emails (password resets) via Resend
- To respond to support tickets you submit
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:

- Clicky — Privacy-friendly website analytics. Clicky collects anonymous page view data, referring URLs, and general visitor information. No personal data is shared with Clicky. See Clicky's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored in a database on our secure server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and cannot be reversed. Auth tokens stored on your device are encrypted using your operating system's secure storage. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@gridterm.com.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data in a portable format

9. Children's Privacy
GridTerm is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of GridTerm after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
